2nd week of april

Monday 5th-The Humble Pot: Learning to Use the Tea-ware of Asia. 7-8:30pm. $35/person. In this session we will explore the art of brewing teas. This is a subtle and never ending study; you will learn how to approach different kinds of tea and how to bring out the best in each one. This is a must for anyone who loves tea. We will as always drink some extraordinary teas this evening. For both beginning students and advanced.

Thursday 8th, A Formal Chinese Tea Ceremony Evening. 7-8:30pm. $40/person. In this session we will drink 3 very rare teas including a 1983 aged top grade ali shan oolong and a 1970s aged puerh tea. This session will be done in classical Chinese tea ceremony fashion and using antique tea ware ( we will drink out of cups that are hundreds of years old). There will be flowers, sweets, beautiful music and tea that will float you on a cloud. This will be an elegant evening. $45/person, limit 7 people.

Friday, 9th. The Cup and the Sword-Movie Night. 7-9pm. $25/person. A night of drinking amazing teas, “Zatoichi, The Blind Swordsman” movies and snacks- what else do you need to know. (ps- I no longer have a 10 inch tv set from the 1970s, we now have a 32 inch flat screen-woo hooo!

Saturday 10th. Tea and Meditation Session. 9-1030am, $15-30-sliding scale. We will drink aged tea for 40 minutes to bring us into a state of quiet and expansiveness and then sit in the meditation room for a 30 minute meditation session. Come join us for this weekly session, it is an amazing way to start a weekend. For beginning as well as advanced practitioners. No experience in meditation or spiritual orientation is of any matter. (no mind-no matter)

Saturday 10th, Sitting in the Mountain: Learning to Use Tea for Meditation. 11am-12:30pm. $35/person. Limit 7 people. In this session we will explore teas that are useful for meditation. There are certain teas which put one in a very grounded and expansive state ideal for internal practices such as meditation, yoga, and chi gong. These teas help you feel the energies of the body, mind and spirit.

3rd week of april

Monday, 12th. An Introduction to Asian Tea. 7-8:30pm. $35. This class is an incredible introduction to tea, tea ware, brewing and the art of tea. We will cover the major classes of tea, the main kinds of asian tea ware and many other things- bring your questions!

Tuesday,13th . Rolling in Flowers: Learning About Herbal Teas.7-8:30pm. $35/person. limit 7 people. There are amazing flowers and plants to drink, calm and heal us. In this class we will explore herbal teas from the west and China. We will learn about brewing, the uses of herbs, and the energetics of herbal teas. Come and drink flowers and leaf! We will drink both eastern and western herbs and I promise you a very different experience than you have had with herbal teas, these sessions are quite heady.

Thursday 15th. Tea and Chi: The Energetics of Living Tea. 7-9pm. $40/person. This session explores the types of chi found in tea. High quality tea is alive and each tea has a very distinct energy to it, which produces a certain shift in our state of being. Teas can bring into many states: meditative, ecstatic, joyous, expansive, inner quiet, etc. Come explore the worlds of tea. Each one of these sessions every month is very different.(and fun)

Saturday 17th. 8:45-10:00 am. You will learn the art of brewing teas; about water, tea ware brewing times, etc. The beauty of each tea can be unlocked with proper understanding. You will learn some of the secrets in this class. This session is for beginning as well as advanced practitioners, bring your questions, this is an art of endless depth. As always we will drink several rare teas that will leave you relaxed and joyful.

4th week of april

Monday 19th. Tea for Healers, 7-9pm. $50/person. In this session I will address how rare teas can be used in conjunction with different healing modalities to facilitate the power and depth of the treatment given. Tea can become a simple and effective part of these healing practices and help to quickly move a patient into a deep, receptive, integrative place from which real healing can begin. Classes will engage your input as healers and discussion is welcomed.

Thursday 22nd, 7-8:30pm. Tasting the Mountains: An Introduction toThe Teas of Asia. In this class we will explore the major types of oolongs from many of the sacred tea mountains in China and Taiwan. We will drink rare top flight oolongs from great mountains such as Phoenix, Wuyi, Dong Ding, and Li Shan and Ali Shan. If you like oolongs, this will be an eye opening experience, these teas are of a much higher quality than what you have ever had. They will leave you floating.

Friday 23rd, 7-9pm. $50/person. Talking to the Immortals- A Night of Drinking Profound Rare Teas. On this evening we will drink many beautiful and rare teas, each of which will leave you deeply open, joy full and expansive.(and grounded) We will drink some 25 year old aged oriental beauty oolong, some remarkable 1980s puerh tea, some 1970s liu an black tea and some other treats that will leave you in a profound and poetic state. This night should not be missed by any tea lover.

Saturday 24th, Tea and Meditation Session. 9am-1015am.We will drink aged tea for 40 minutes to bring us into a state of quiet and expansiveness and then sit in the meditation room for a 30 minute meditation session. Saturday 24th, 11am to 12:30pm An Introduction to Young Puerh Tea. $35/person. In this class we will sample many young puerh teas, talk about what to look for when buying these teas and examine the chi or energetics of these teas. This is a great class for those getting into these wonderful teas and is both for beginners and advanced tea people- all my classes are always personally geared towards the needs of those who attend. I have over 45 young puerh teas to use in my classes.

5th week of april

Monday, 26th, 7-9pm. The Sacred Art of Tea: Inner and Outer Cha Dao. $40/person. Tea has the ability to connect us to both our humanity and our divinity. In this class you will be introduced to the sacred aspects of Chinese tea ceremony and various techniques for making tea a simple but deep practice for yourself and loved ones. You will learn the outer practices of tea ceremony as well as the keys to opening up the inner dimensions of this sacred art. This is a study of infinite depth- open to beginners and advanced practitioners.

Wednesday 29th, 7-9pm. Full Moon Tea Drunk: A Night of Heady Tea and Ecstatic Poetry.$45/person. In this evening we will drink many heady rare teas, and read and share poetry from the great ecstatic traditions of Asia, and howl with the full moon. We will read such things as great sufi poetry, mahasiddha poetry form Tibet, wandering Sadhu poetry form India and Taoist poetry form China. We will drink teas that will bring us into that ecstatic lunar state….come celebrate the spiraling joy of life!

Drinking the Forest- A Night of Drinking Aged Teas. 7-9pm. $45/person,limit 7 people. In this session you will be introduced to the aged teas of China. These teas have exceptional “chi” or energy to them and will leave you in a state of joy and mild “tea drunkeness”. Included will be aged early 1990s sheng puerh, aged 1980s oolong, early 1990s aged liu bao black, aged 12 year liu an black tea and a ten year old aged yunnan white bud tea. This is a rare chance to try some very amazing and interesting teas, come join me.

Welcome my friends to Heavens Tea and Sacred Arts Center, Portland, Oregon. Here is a listing of our monthly sacred tea offerings. We specialize in rare teas which have a great amount of chi or life force. These teas are calming and have the ability to shift us into deeper, more profound states of awareness. They also have flavor and aroma profiles that are beyond belief, these are not like ANY teas you have had before. All tea sessions include flowers, music, tea snacks, candles, incense in a setting of beauty and elegance.

We have one of the largest selection of  rare teas available to the public in the country including over 75 aged teas between 10-50 years old.  Our many classes and sessions teach both the classical art of tea and the spiritual, inner art of tea. My goal is to give others the tools for making tea their own art and to support the growth of tea culture in the states.

Please contact for private sessions and parties as these are my art and are an experience you will remember for the rest of your life. These can be scheduled for any time. 2ND WEEK OF FEBRUARY

The First Step on the Path- An Introduction to Tea. Monday, 8th. 7-8:30pm. $35. On this evening I will introduce people to the world of Chinese teas, tea-ware and brewing. This is a great start fofr people who like tea but don’t know what the different kinds of tea are or what to do with them.

Drinking the Forest- A Night of Drinking Aged Teas. Tuesday 9th. 7-9pm. $45. In this class we will try five very special aged puerh teas from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and learn about these powerful and exquisite aged teas. These aged teas develop extraordinary flavors and aromas and chi (energy) over time as well as putting you into a very ecstatic and relaxed state.  This is a good place to come and learn what real aged peurhs taste and feel their transformational power.

Tea and Chi: The Energetics of Living Tea. Thursday 11th. 7-9pm $40. In this session we will exlpore the various kinds of chi (energy) in rare teas. Chi in tea can be ecstatic, meditative, expansive, healing  deeply quieting, wild or embody beauty. We will drink various teas and share experiences of thier internal effects. (PS- this is VERY FUN). You will leave floating on air.

Tea and Meditation Session. Saturday 13th. 9-10:15am. $15-35 sliding scale. We drink amazing aged tea for 40 minutes which will move you into a deep and quiet place and then we will meditate together for another 40 minutes. This is a great way to start your weekend and the energy will carry you all day. No meditation experience necessary, this will come about naturally after the tea.

Chinese New Years! Sunday 14th, 8-10pm. $45. We sill celebrate Chinese New Years together with amazing teas, chocolate and some ritual to bring in the new year and to set our intentions for the year of the tiger. Yeah!

3RD WEEK OF FEBRUARY

We will drink rose, cammomille, immortality tea, tea flower and calendual among others.

4TH WEEK OF FEBRUARY

Tasting the Mountains: The Teas of Asia. Monday 22nd. 7-9pm. $40. In this class we will explore teas from many of the sacred and famous tea mountains in China and Taiwan. You will drink oolongs from great mountians such as Phoenix, Wuyi, Dong Ding, and Li Shan.

Talking to the Immortals- A Night of Drinking Profound Rare Teas. Thursday  25th. 7-9pm. $50. In this session we will drink rare aged oolongs, puerhs and other treats. These teas are very powerful and special and will bring you into a state of profound relaxation, open you in  a deep way and maybe make you a bit ecstatic if all goes well. These teas are very rare and not to be missed. Bring a friend, you will definitely be talking to the immortals by the end of the session.

TEA AND MEDITATION CLASS: Saturday, January 9th, 9-10:15am. We drink amazing aged tea for 40 minutes which will move you into a deep and quiet place and then we will meditate together for another 40 minutes. This is a great way to start your weekend and the energy will carry you all day. No meditation experince nessesary, this will come about naturally after the tea. Limit 7 people, cost is sliding scale 15-$25, pay as you wish.

TEA DRUNK, A RARE TEA SESSION. Saturday , January 9th, 11am-12:30pm. Certain teas have the effect of relaxing the body and mind, making us a little giddy and experiences an expanded state, putting us into a state know as being “tea drunk”. This is a very grounded state, but very fun, so grab a friend and come have the experience, you will remember it! Limited to 7 people, cost is $35/person.

The  Art of Sacred Cha Dao:  Monday 11th, 7-8:30. Tea has the ability to connect us to both our humanity and our divinity. In this class you will be introduced to the sacred aspects of Chinese tea ceremony and various techniques for making this a simple but deep practice for yourself and loved ones. This is a study of infinite depth- open to beginners and advanced practitioners. As always we will drink rare and profound teas. Limit 7 people, cost $35.

A TASTE OF TAIWAN: Tuesday 12th, 7-9pm. In this session we will try five of the teas I brought back from my trip, along with some good stories of my tea travels there.- two amazing organic oolongs made in the old style , an old tree sun moon lake black tea that will leave you floating in a chi cloud, beautiful calming wuyi zheng yan cha, some aged Ali Shan oolong form 1994 that will melt you a little, and some 1980s aged puerh that will leave you happy and tea drunk. Cost $45/person. Limit 7 people. Call or email for reservation.

Using Tea as Plant-Spirit -Medicine. Thursday 14th, 7-9 pm. Medicine: Rare teas have amazing and profound effects on on the human mind, body and spirit. The variety of vibrations found in true tea is truly stunning. Come learn how to use tea for meditation, healing, well being as a vehicle to connect you to the deeper, broader harmonies of nature and creation. limit 7 people, cost $45.

SITTING IN THE MOUNTAINS, A Rare Tea and Meditation Session.  Saturday 16th, 9-10:15am. Sitting in the Mountain, a Rare Tea and Meditation Session. We will drink aged puerh tea for 45 minutes to put us into a state of deeper awareness and then sit  in meditation for 45 minutes. No meditation background is  necessary, the teas will lead you naturally into this state. $15-25/person, sliding scale.

Tea for Spiritual Work and Self Cultivation: Monday 18th, 7-9pm. Rare teas can be used as an powerful aid to inner practices such as meditation, chi gong, yoga, healing work and nei gong. There are teas which help move one into internal states, give one a clear sense of ones body as a responsive energetic mechanism and open one up to the more refined aspects of ones awareness. We will try several of these amazing teas during this class. Limit 7 people, cost $45.

Tea and Chi- Thursday 21st, 7-9pm. A class in understanding the different types of energy in teas and using them for healing and meditation in your daily life. Different rare teas have profoundy different energies and effects on us. Learn how to create your own stock of teas to use for different occasions in your life- relaxing, ecstatic,energizing, meditation, healing, socializing, etc.  We will drink several rare teas and herbal teas including aged puerh, some 30 year old oolong and Chinese Immortality tea.  $35-45, sliding scale.

Hi to all my friends. I am back from a month in Taiwan on a tea journey. It was a wonderful trip and I was able to further my understanding of tea, meet some of the great tea masters and visit small organic farms where tea is still being made in the old way. A Taste of Taiwan: In this session we will try five of the teas I brought back from my trip- two amazing organic oolongs made in the old style , an old tree sun moon lake black tea that will leave you floating in a chi cloud, beautiful calming wuyi zheng yan cha and some aged Ali Shan oolong form 1994 that will melt you a little. Thursday 10th.  7-9pm. Tea Drunk- Come join me for a night of drinking heady teas that will put you into a profound state of calmness, joy and presence. If you have never been tea drunk before, you will be amazed at the different states which rare teas can bring you into. We will drink aged puerh, aged oolong, aged black teas and some rare oolong. Saturday 12th, 9-10:15am -Sitting in the Mountain, a Rare Tea and Meditation Session. We will drink aged puerh tea for 45 minutes to put us into a state of deeper awareness and then sit  in meditation for 45 minutes. No meditation background is  necessary, the teas will lead you naturally into this state. $25/person

Saturday 12th, 11am- 12:30pm- Tea and Chi- a class in understanding the different types of energy in teas and using them for healing and meditation in your daily life. Different rare teas have profoundly different energies and effects on us. Learn how to create your own stock of teas to use for different occasions in your life- relaxing, energizing, meditation, healing, socializing, etc.  We will drink several rare teas and herbal teas including some 30 year old oolong and Chinese Immortality tea.  $35/person.

Monday 14th, 7-8:30pm. Beauty in A Cup- The Art of Brewing Teas. You will learn the art of brewing teas; about water, tea ware brewing times, etc. The beauty of each tea can be unlocked with proper understanding. You will learn some of the secrets in this class. This session is for beginning as well as advanced practitioners, bring your questions, this is an art of endless depth.  As always we will drink several rare teas that will leave you relaxed and joyful. $35/person.

Tuesday 15th, 7-9pm. Drinking The Mountains, The Oolongs of China And Taiwan. In this class you will learn about the different major types of oolongs, how to brew them and the energetic differences between them. We will drink Baozhong and HighMountain Oriental Beauty from Taiwan and Wuyi, Phoenix and Tie quan Yin from mainland China. The caliber of teas we will drink is exceptional and you will leave relaxed and floating on a cloud. Limit 7 people, $35/person.

SHINTO DEER MANDALA

17th, 7-9pm. Tea as Mind, Body, Spirit Medicine. Rare teas have profound effects on our mind and being. We will explore the ways in which tea and herbal teas can be used as vibrational medicine in your life. Healers, doctors, yoga people, martial artists, mediators will all find this very useful. This will be very special and in the future I will do an extended series of classes on this subject. $45/person.

Saturday 19th, 10am-12 noon. The Sacred Art of Tea. Tea can be an exalted path to self cultivation and harmony with life. This session will focus on studying tea as a Sacred Way. You will learn how to approach and work with tea from a sacred point of view, how to create a tea space in your home and how to use simple tea ritual every day to support your inner growth. $35/person.

Monday 21st, 7-9pm.   Solstice Tea Session. Come celebrate the solstice with rare teas to make you ecstatic, flowers, chocolate, music and good company.This is a night to celebrate life and light- come sit with friends, me and tea!  40$/person.

Welcome my friends to Heavens Tea and Sacred Arts Center, Portland, Oregon. Here is a listing of our monthly sacred tea offerings. We specialize in rare teas which have a great amount of chi or life force. These teas are calming and have the ability to shift us into deeper, more profound states of awareness. They also have flavor and aroma profiles that are beyond belief, these are not like ANY teas you have had before. All tea sessions include flowers, music, tea snacks, candles, incense in a setting of beauty and elegance.

We have one of the largest selection of  rare teas available to the public in the country including over 75 aged teas between 10-50 years old.  Our many classes and sessions teach both the classical art of tea and the spiritual, inner art of tea. My goal is to give others the tools for making tea their own art and to support the growth of tea culture in the states.

Please contact for private sessions and parties as these are my art and are an experience you will remember for the rest of your life. These can be scheduled for any time. I also do sacred tea as part of may ritual transitions in peoples lives including weddings, funerals, births, family gatherings, etc. Give the gift of a very special experience (gift certificates are available).

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Tea Drunk – A Tea Journey. $35, limit 7 people.  In this session I will take you on a journey through rare teas which have very powerful chi and each has the ability to shift you into a different state. This session will include rare aged oolong, puerhs from 1000 year old trees as well as a variety of other teas that will make you swoon and blissful. Come walk in the clouds with me!

This is a subtle and never ending study; you will learn how to approach different kinds of tea and how to bring out the best in each one. This is a must for anyone who loves tea. In this class we will taste rare examples of the major classes of oolongs in China and Taiwan: Baozhong and High Mountain form Taiwan and Wuyi, Old Tree Phoenix, and Tie Quan Yin form China. These are really special teas, you will float away on  cloud.

Tea and Qi- Exploring the Types of Qi energy in Tea. Wednesday 16th.  7-9pm. $45/person. an exploration of the types of chi or energy in tea. Limit 7 people. In this session we will explore the various kinds of chi (energy) in rare teas. Chi in tea can be ecstatic, meditative, expansive, healing  deeply quieting, wild or embody beauty. We will drink various teas and share experiences of their internal effects. (PS- this is very fun!)

Sitting in the Mountains Heart- Using Teas for Meditation Practice, Thursday 17th. 7-9pm. $45/person. In this session we will explore teas that are useful for meditation. There are certain teas which put one in a very grounded and expansive state ideal for internal practices such as meditation, yoga, and chi gong. These teas help you feel the energies of the body, mind and spirit.

Tea Class- An Introduction to The Types of Teas in Asia. Monday 21st.  7-8:30pm. $35/person. In this class, we will explore the 6 classes of tea: white, green, oolong, black, peurh and herbal. You will learn about each type as well as how to brew these teas. After this class you will be able to approach any tea in the world.

Drinking Old Trees: An Aged Puerh Tea Tasting. Wednesday 23rd, 7-9:00pm. $50/person.  Aged Puerhs of China. limit 7 people. In this class we will try five very special aged puerh teas from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and learn about these powerful and exquisite aged teas. These aged teas develop extraordinary flavors and aromas and chi (energy) over time as well as putting you into a very ecstatic and relaxed state.  This is a good place to come and learn what real aged peurhs taste and feel their transformational power.

The Leaf and the Bean: A rare tea and chocolate tasting. Friday 25th,7-9pm, $45/person. In this evening we will sample six different rare teas paired with six amazing chocolates, this session will make you swoon, no , really. Limit 7 people.

Rolling in Flowers- An Herbal Tea Tasting. Saturday Morning, 26th  10:30-12pm. $35/person. There are amazing flowers and plants to drink, calm and heal us. In this class we will explore herbal teas from  the west and China. We will learn about brewing, the uses of herbs, and the energetics of herbal teas.  Come and drink flowers and leaf! We will drink rose, chamomile, immortality tea, tea flower and calendual among others. Limit 7 people, cost $35/ person.

We will read such things as great sufi poetry, mahasiddha poetry form Tibet, wandering Sadhu poetry form India and Taoist poetry form China. We will drink teas that will bring us into that ecstatic state….come celebrate the spiraling  joy of life!

Sword and Cup Nights (2 nights)- A night of Samurai movies and rare tea. Friday 18th and  7-9pm. $35/person. and Sunday the 20th 7-9pm. A movie night to drink fine teas, eat tasty snacks and watch the adventures of Zatoichi, The Blind Swordsman (over 30 movies in this series)

Sacred Tea and Mediation Sessions (2 days) - Saturdays the 19th and 16th from 9-10:15am. 15-20$ sliding scale. A chance to drink some aged puerh which will help center and open us followed by a 40 minute meditation session. NO meditation experience is necessary.

The Chinese Tea Ceremony, “Gung Fu Cha” , is a very simpe ritual that can create great beauty, presence and connection among those participating. It is a great way to create a little sacred time and space in your day thorugh tea and simple ritual and is also a great way to be with freinds and loved ones.

Taiwan Tea Trip Fund Raiser Party. August 23rd Sunday- POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT MONTH!

Requested Donation: $25 to one million dollars, pay what you wish. 8pm-Minight. I am throwing a tea and sake party to raise money for my Spetember trip to Taiwan. On this trip I am going to work on establishing my connections with tea culture inTaiwan, meet some of the great masteres there and expand my depth of learning. My desire is to buy rare teas there to bring back here and sell in order to pay for my next trip. This way I will be able to go 2-3 times a year and bring back tresures to share and make conncetions there so I can bring a small group on a tea trip sometime. These teas are of a quality that is not served in any teahouse and you will floating after the first tea. The  range of tastes, aromas and energy from each tea is extraordianry and will truely change your ideas about what “tea ” is. We will drink rare Wuyi, Tie Quan Yin,and  Phoenix teas from China and Taiwnaese oolongs, including aged oolong and oriental beauty.

These aged teas develop extraordinary flavors and aromas and chi (energy) over time as well as putting you into a very ecstatic and relaxed state.  This is a good place to come and learn what real aged peurhs taste and feel their transformational power.

July 6th Monday: A Tea Journey-Rare Tea Tasting. $50/person.  5-7 pm. In this tea journey we will try 6 different teas encompassing a wide range of vibrations, flavors, aromas and experinecs. Many of these teas are truley transporting and you will find yourself in a very open and transcendant state by the time we are done. We will drink white teas, oolongs, aged oolongs, young and old puerhs as well as a few suprises.

July 7th Tuesday:  Drunken Full Moon Tea Session:  7-8:30pm. Limit 7 people. Cost: $35. Reservation Required, please call or email. We will celebrate the full moon this month by getting “tea drunk” on  aged puerh and then write inspired tea poetry. Full moon nights are meant for wild abandonment, artistic expression and laughter.  For those of you who have had my old peurhs you know this will be a transcendant poetic evening. Tea snacks will be served. If weather permits, we will be in the outdoor teahouse.

July 8th Wednesday: Drinking the Forest- The Aged Teas of China. 7-8:30pm. $40/person. Limit 7 people. In this session we will drink and explore the various aged teas of China: 1980 aged oolong, 1989 peurh, 1998 lui an black tea, 1992 liu bao black tea, aged 1996 tibetan brick tea and 1998 liang green tea. These teas are all rich and quite heady and will leave you floating. Some of these teas are like drinking the whole forest- the earth, the trees, the leaves and eveything in between. This is a are chance to try these teas, please join me. 7-9pm, limit 6 people.

July 9th, Thrusaday: The Art of Brewing Tea and the Classical Tea Ware of Asia. 7-8:30pm. $35/pserson, limit 7 people. In t his session we will exlore the art of brewing teas. This is a sublte and never ending study; you will learn how to approach different kinds of tea and how to bring out the best in each one. This is a must for anyone who loves tea. We will as always drink some extraordianary teas this evening. For both beggings students and advanced.

July 13th, Monday: Class- The Chinese Tea Ceremony. 7-8:30pm, limit 7 people. $25/person. Learn this simple but profound ritual for making and sharing tea. The Chinese Tea Ceremony, “Gung Fu Cha” , is a very simpe ritual that can create great beauty, presence and connection among those participating. It is a great way to create a little sacred time and space in your day thorugh tea and simple ritual and is also a great way to be with freinds and loved ones.

July 14th, Tuesday: Sacred Asian Art and Tea Classs.7-8:30. $35/person. Limit 7 people. In this class we will drink several potent teas which will put us into a state of depth and calm and then we will discuss and learn about sacred meaning in Tibetan and Indian Art. We will look at paintings, statues and books and I will teach you to read the sacred sybolism embeded in these art forms. Feel free to bring paintings to discuss.  I have over 25 years experience in the Asian art feild and have been a guest curator at the Portland Museum of Art.

July 15th, Wednesday: Herbal Tea Class. 7-8:30pm. There are amazing flowers and plants to drink, calm and heal us. In this class we will explore herbal teas from  the west and China. We will learn about brewing, the uses of herbs, and the energetics of herbal teas.  Come and drink flowers and leaf! July 23rd, Thursday: Tea Drunk – A Summer Tea Journey. $35, limit 7 people.  In this session we will celebrate spring in the outdoor teahouse. (weather permitting). I will take you on a journey through rare teas which have very powerful chi and each has the ability to shift you into a different state. This session will include rare aged oolong, puerhs from 1000 year old trees as well as a vareity of other teas that will make you swoon and blissful. Come walk in the clouds with me!

July 24th, Friday:  Young Puerh Tea Tasting  (1-10 yrs old). 7-9pm, $40/person. In this session we will explore puerh teas from Yunnan, China. We will try 7 teas and explore how these teas develope in taste, aroma, body and chi (energy) over time. ( I have over 45 younger peruhs to choose from) This class will also help those buying puerh tea and I will instruct you on what to look for in a good younger puerh tea.

In this evening we will sit in the outdoor teahouse, drink heady rare teas, and read and share poetry from the great ecstatic traditions of Asia. We will read such things as great sufi peotry, mahasiddha poetry form Tibet, wandering Sadhu poetry form India and Taoist poetry form China. We will drink teas that will bring us into that ecstatic state….come celebrate the spiraling  joy of life!

July 31st, Friday- Tea Class- An Intorduction to the World of Asian Tea. 7-8:30. $35/person. In this session we will learn about the six major classes of teas: white, green, oolong, black, puerh and herbal. Differences in effect, brewing techniques and approprtiate tea ware will be explained. This is also a chance to try examples of these teas far above what is commonly available.

sunday, may 24th. Full Moon Tea and Poetry Session. 7-9pm. $45/person. We will celebrate the full moon this month by getting “tea drunk” on  aged puerh and then write inspired tea poetry. Full moon nights are meant for wild abandonment, artistic expression and laughter.  For those of you who have had my old peurhs you know this will be a transcendant poetic evening. Tea snacks will be served. 

tuesday may 26th. The Art of Brewing Tea. 7-8:30pm. $35/pserson, limit 7 people. an in depth class on the art of brewing the different kinds of tea form Asia. We will explore how water, water temperature, brewing vessel and type of tea al effect the tea you brew. As in all my classes you will be taught how to make this your own art and how to adjust all these variables to fit your day and your mood.

wednesday may 27th.  Rare Tea Tasting- Aged Puerhs of China. 7-9pm. $50/person, limit 7 people. In this class we will try some special aged puerh form the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and learn about these powerful and equisite aged teas. These aged teas develop extraordinary flavors and aromas over time as well as putting you into a very ecstatic state.  This is a good place to come and learn what real aged peurhs are supposed to taste and feel like. You will be delighted. 

thursday may 28th. The Sacred Art of Tea. 7-8:30. $35. Limit 7 people. Come and learn about the sacred path of tea as well as the methods for creating sacred tea sessions. Making tea for someone can be a very powerful event if you learn how to bring presence, intention, attention and a sense of service to it. Also, you will learn what kind of teas facilitate this path. We will drink some very special teas.  This will be the first of many classes on the sacred aspects of Cha Dao (the way of tea).

friday, may 29th. Tea and Sacred Tibetan Art Class. 7-8:30pm. In this class we will drink several potent teas which will put us into a state of depth and calm and then we will discuss and learn about Iconography in Tibetan art. We will look at books of old paintings and I will teach you to read the sacred sybolism embeded in this art form. Feel free to bring paintings to discuss. Limit 7 people, cost- $25-35 sliding scale. 

friday may 29th. Rare Tea and Chocolate Tasting. 7-9pm. Cost $65/couple. In this session we will try 5 differnent haigh quality chocolates with 5 rare teas. This cominbation will melt you into a puddle, bring your sweetheart. You will floating on air by the time you leave….no, really. Limit 7 people.

      Welocme to Heavens Tea and Sacred Arts Center- Here is a listing of our monthly sacred tea offerings. We speicalize in rare teas which have a great amount of chi or life force. These teas are calming and have the ability to shift us into deeper, more profound states of awareness. We have one of the largest selection of  rare teas available to the public in the counrty and over 75 aged teas between 10-50 years old.  Our many classes and sessions teach both the classical art of tea and the spritiual, inner art of tea.  All sessions include flowers, music, tea snacks, candles, incense in a setting of beauty and elegance. THURSDAY 16th. Chinese Tea Ceremony Class. 7-8:30. Learn this simple but profound ritual for making and sharing tea. The Chinese Tea Ceremony, “Gung Fu Cha” , is a very simpe ritual that can create great beauty, presence and connection among those participating. It is a great way to create a little sacred time and space in your day thorugh tea and simple ritual and is also a great way to be with freinds and loved ones. Cost $35, limit 7 people. Reservation only.

FRIDAY 17th. Rare Tea Tasting- The Aged Teas of China. 7-9pm. In this session you will have a rare chance to try the  different aged teas of China: 20 year Puerh, 20 year Aged Oolong, 19 year aged green Lui An, 15 year aged black Lui Bao, 12 year aged green Liang tea, 11 year old FU tea and 10 year aged Tibetan tea. Most of these teas are ukown outside china and they are quite unusal and fun to drink. Aged teas have a low caffine content but an increased amount of flavor aroma and “chi” or energy. Cost $50, limit 7 people, reservation only.

SATURDAY 18th.  Weekly Tea and Meditation. 10am-11:15am. We will drink aged tea for 40 minutes to bring us into a state of quiet and expansivness and then sit in the meditation room for a 30 minute meditation session. Cost: $15-20 sliding scale. Limit 7 people, please call for reservation.

SATURDAY 18th. Class- An Intorduction to Puerh Teas. 4-5:30pm. In this class you will be educated in puerh teas form Yunnan Province in China. These teas come form the origanal tea trees in the world, some living for thousands of years and are aged after picking. We will taste both young and old puerhs, learn about brewing methods and how to know quality puerh. Cost $35, limit 7 people. By reservation.

SUNDAY 19th- Private Sacred Tea and Vedic Astology Sessions- Sign up for a private 45 minute rare tea tasting followed by a 45 minute private vedic astrology session with Andy Matinog, a gifted yogic practitioner, teacher and vedic astrologer. The tea sessions are geared towards opening you up in a very deep way, through the use of rare aged teas, so that upon entering the vedic reading you are in a place from which you can ask and receive deeply from. These reading can help with navigationg the swirling tides of life.  Fee: $45 for Tea and $50-75, sliding scale for Vedic session.

MONDAY 20th.  Tea and Chi. 7-8:30pm.In this session we will exlpore the various kinds of chi (energy) in rare teas. Chi in tea can be ecstatic, meditative, expansive, healing  deeply quieting, wild or embody beauty. We will drink various teas and share experiences of thier internal effects. (PS- this is VERY FUN). TUESDAY 21st. Tea and Chocolate- a spring session devoted to two of the best things in the world. We will sample 5 rare teas filled with beauty and 5 types of chocolate chosen to make you swoon. The setting will include flowers, incense, candles, beautiful art- everything to open you up and to celebrate beauty in the world.  This will be a sublime evening and you will leave floating on air. . Limit 7 people, $45/person, reservation only.

SUNDAY 26th- Sacred Tea and Reiki Healing Sessions. These private two hour sessions include an hour of rare teas which will relax and open you in a very deep way followed by an hour of Reiki healing with Stacey Darbey who has a profound gift for healing.  Reiki is a form of hands on energetic healing which will help your body, mind and spirit return to a state of greater natural health. Cost $100 for the two hour session. 11am-5pm.

MONDAY 27th-  Rare Aged Oolong Tasting. In this session we will try five precious aged oolongs: rare 1970s Sichuan oolong toucha, 1970s Tie Quan Yin, Early 1978 Baozhong Oolong, a mid 1990s Honey Orchid Phoenix Oolong and an amazing early 80s Baozhong. When teas age properly, the caffine level drops but the chi, flaovor and aromas evolve into complex beautiful attributes. These teas have a tremendous amount of chi but at the same time will make you very very relaxed. This will be an amazing session, dont miss it. Cost $50/person. Time 7-9pm. Limit 8 people. TUESDAY 28th-Tea Class: The Art of Asian Teaware. In this class you will be educated in the various kinds of classic Asian teaware form Japan, Korea, and China. You will learn how to use each type of teapot, how know which tea to use with each kind of teaware and about the aesethics of teaware. 7-8:30pm. Limit 8 people. Cost 35. WEDNESDAY 29th- Herbal Tea Class. 7-8;30pm -There are amazing flowers and plants to drink, calm and heal us. In this class we will explore herbal teas from  the west and China. We will learn about brewing, the uses of herbs, and the energetics of herbal teas.  Come and drink flowers and leaf! We will drink rose, cammomille, immortality tea, tea flower and calendual among others. Limit 7 people, cost $25-35/ person, sliding scale.

THURSDAY 30th- Rare Oolongs of China and Taiwan- In this session we will drink oolongs of a quality rarely found in the west. We will drink Taiwanese high mountian oolongs, fujian phoenix old tree oolong, hand crafted small farm wuyi oolong, taiwanese tie quan yin oolong and some rare 25 year old aged baozhong form taiwan. For those who love oolong, these are increadalbe teas and this is a chance to try teas that will transport, relax and move you deeply. $45/person, limit 7 people. By reservation only. 7-9pm.
