SACRED TEA: TEA TASTINGS
In these sessions I communicate the essence of the spirit of tea as well as educate people about tea. The atmosphere includes flowers, incense, tea snacks, candles, and beautiful music. These things serve to help fully open people’s senses and create the sense of presence and transcendence which lies at the heart of tea. Tea is a vehicle to feel that each moment is special and it connects us with our humanity and our divinity. With intention, attention, a sense of service and an open being, the tea preparer can create an environment in which others can truly feel a deeper part of themselves and a larger dimension of life. I use exceptional teas of a quality that people rarely encounter. These teas have the power to open us and to shift us into a different place within ourselves. Each tea has a particular vibration which creates a different experience for the drinker.
Some Tasting Sessions Offered: 
Short Session: These sessions are an opportunity to come, sample some beautiful rare teas, see the tea room, meet me and talk tea. Sessions are $50 for 1-2 people for a one hour session. These short informal sessions are also a great beginning to an evening our or when you need a break from your day to day life.
Tea Journeys: Let me take you on a journey through tea. In these sessions we will taste 6-8 rare teas, each one a unique experience, evocative aromas, flavors; each tea will open up new states of awareness in y0u. Starting at $150 and up/1-4 people.
Tasting Asia, An Intorduction to Asian Tea:In this tasting session we will taste two teas from each of the six categories of tea: white, green, oolong, black tea, puerh, and herbal teas. Included will be teas from China, Japan, India and Taiwan as well as instruction in using traditional tea ware used in these countries. For 1-4 people sessions start at $150-200.
Aged Puerh Tastings:Tastings featuring these very powerful aged teas. Each of these teas presents a very different experience in flavor, aroma and more importantly in your state of being. These teas will put you in touch will heaven and earth. These tastings are really fun and beautiful. Starting at $150-$350 for 1-4people, 2-3 hours.
Rare Oolong Tastings: In these sessions you will experience very rare oolongs from Taiwan and China. We will drink many of the most famous teas such as wuyi, phoenix, tie quan yin and oreintal beauty. The quality of these teas is exceptional and they have tremendous “chi” or energy which will relax you and open you up. Prepare to be “tea drunk”.
Custom Tastings: Focusing on your specific interests. Prices vary according to rarity of teas used.
Tea for Wine Lovers: Tea and wine tasting, cultivation, and growing have many parallels and in this tea class you will experience the same joy you have found with the grape. I have chosen rare teas which explode with a vast array of subtle flavors, aromas, textures and colors. As with wine, it is sometimes hard to believe they all come from the same plant.
Tea for Gourmets: In these classes we will approach tea form an epicurean perspective- exploring tastes, textures, aromas – and the possibilities for pairing with various foods. I have over two decades experience as a gourmet chef and if you love food, you will love this tasting and dialogue about food and tea.
Herbal Tea Tastings; Explore the world of herbal teas. Teas from flowers, root and leaf have the power to deeply relax and heal us. Come try teas from both the eastern and western herbal traditions.
