Welcome my friends to Heavens Tea and Sacred Arts Center, Portland, Oreogn. Here is a listing of our monthly sacred tea offerings. We speicalize in rare teas which have a great amount of chi or life force. These teas are calming and have the ability to shift us into deeper, more profound states of awareness. We have one of the largest selection of rare teas available to the public in the counrty and over 75 aged teas between 10-50 years old. Our many classes and sessions teach both the classical art of tea and the spritiual, inner art of tea. My goal is to give others the tools for making tea thier own art and to support the growth of tea culutre in the states. Please contact for private sessons as these are my art and are an experience you will remember for the rest of your life. These can be schedualed for any time and I leave weekends free for these. I also do tea as part of may ritual transistions in peoples lives including weddings, funerals, births, family gatherings, etc. I am licensed also to perform marriage cerimonies as well All tea sessions include flowers, music, tea snacks, candles, incense in a setting of beauty and elegance. Classes are held either in the indoor tea temple or the outdoor tea pagoda. Private classes, sessions, parties and rare tea tasting sessions (and weddings) available most times and all weekend nights. Gift certificates are available. Please come join me for tea! (for private sessions I am often available at a momets notice, so if you are feeling in the moment for something special, just call me and often you can come right over- spontaneity and the flow of the moment is so much a part of tea!)

This is a sublte and never ending study; you will learn how to approach different kinds of tea and how to bring out the best in each one. This is a must for anyone who loves tea. We will as always drink some extraordianary teas this evening. For both beggings students and advanced.
FULL MOON PRIVATE WEDDING, WEDNESDAY 5TH
Thursady 6th, Aged Puerhs of China. 7-9pm. $45/person, limit 7 people. In this class we will try five very special aged puerh teas from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and learn about these powerful and exquisite aged teas. These aged teas develop extraordinary flavors and aromas and chi (energy) over time as well as putting you into a very ecstatic and relaxed state. This is a good place to come and learn what real aged peurhs taste and feel their transformational power.
Friday 7th: The Chinese Tea Ceremony. 7-8:30pm, limit 7 people. $25/person. Learn this simple but profound ritual for making and sharing tea. The Chinese Tea Ceremony, “Gung Fu Cha” , is a very simpe ritual that can create great beauty, presence and connection among those participating. It is a great way to create a little sacred time and space in your day thorugh tea and simple ritual and is also a great way to be with freinds and loved ones.
August 8th,Saturday Morning. Sacred Tea and Meditaion Session. 9-10:15am, Minimum donation $15, limit 12 people. We will drink aged tea for 40 minutes to bring us into a state of quiet and expansivness and then sit in the meditation room for a 30 minute meditation session. Come join us for this weekly session, it is an amazing way to start a weekend. For beggining as well as advanced practioners. No experince in meditation or spiritual orientation is of any matter. (no mind-no matter)

August 12th, Wenesday. Tea Drunk - A Summer Tea Journey. $35, limit 7 people. In this session we will celebrate spring in the outdoor teahouse. (weather permitting). I will take you on a journey through rare teas which have very powerful chi and each has the ability to shift you into a different state. This session will include rare aged oolong, puerhs from 1000 year old trees as well as a vareity of other teas that will make you swoon and blissful. Come walk in the clouds with me!

Ecstatic Teas and Ecstatic Poetry. August 19th, Wednesday - 7-8:30pm. $35/person. The Ecstatic Poetry of Asia and Ecstatic Tea Session. In this evening we will sit in the outdoor teahouse, drink heady rare teas, and read and share poetry from the great ecstatic traditions of Asia. We will read such things as great sufi peotry, mahasiddha poetry form Tibet, wandering Sadhu poetry form India and Taoist poetry form China. We will drink teas that will bring us into that ecstatic state….come celebrate the spiraling joy of life!
Sitting in the Mountians Heart- Using Teas for Meditation Practice. August 20th, Thursday ( New Moon). $35/person. In this session we will explore teas that are useful for meditation. There are certain teas which put one in a very grounded and expansive state ideal for internal practices such as meditation, yoga, and chi gong. These teas help you feel the energies of the body, mind and spirit.
Sword and Cup- A night of Samurai movies and rare tea. August 21st, Friday. 7-9pm. $25/person. As a break from the hpt summer nights in Portland this week, I am adding an air conditoned movie night. We will share rare teas and watch an old samuri movie together on my little tv set. A good way to stay cool. $25 person 7-9pm.

In this class we will explore herbal teas from the west and China. We will learn about brewing, the uses of herbs, and the energetics of herbal teas. Come and drink flowers and leaf! We will drink rose, cammomille, immortality tea, tea flower and calendual among others. Limit 7 people, cost $35/ person.
Taiwan Tea Trip Fund Raiser Party. August 23rd Sunday- POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT MONTH!
Requested Donation: $25 to one million dollars, pay what you wish. 8pm-Minight. I am throwing a tea and sake party to raise money for my Spetember trip to Taiwan. On this trip I am going to work on establishing my connections with tea culture inTaiwan, meet some of the great masteres there and expand my depth of learning. My desire is to buy rare teas there to bring back here and sell in order to pay for my next trip. This way I will be able to go 2-3 times a year and bring back tresures to share and make conncetions there so I can bring a small group on a tea trip sometime. So please come celebrate, drinnk great teas and eat some snacks (always chocolate of course) and holp propel me into my future. Much love, Paul.
Tea and Qi- Exlporing the Types of Qi energy in Tea. August 24th Monday. 7-9pm. $35/person. an exploration of the types of chi or energy in tea.$45/pserson. Limit 7 people. In this session we will exlpore the various kinds of chi (energy) in rare teas. Chi in tea can be ecstatic, meditative, expansive, healing deeply quieting, wild or embody beauty. We will drink various teas and share experiences of thier internal effects. (PS- this is VERY FUN). You will leave floating on air.
Tea Class- An Introductin to The Types of Teas in Asia. August 26th Wednesday. 7-8:30pm. $35/person. In this classwe will explore the 6 classes of tea: white, green, oolong, black, peurh and herbal. You will learn about each type as well as how to brew these teas. After this class you will be able to approach any tea in the world.
Rare Tea Tasting- Rare Oolongs form Taiwan and China. August 27th, Thursday. 7-8:30pm $35/person. In this class we will taste rare examples of the major classes of oolongs in China and Taiwan: Baozhong and High Mountian form Taiwan and Wuyi, Old Tree Phoenix, and Tie Quan Yin form China. These are really special teas, you will float away on cloud.
